Cole & Sons
Cole & Son is this amazing wallpaper company that is really really making me want to be an interior designer all of a sudden. It was set up in 1873 and yet has managed to keep up to date and modern. They have the showroom is in the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour.
Hardcourt
While away Smongey got the lovely Issue 1. of Elephant, although he was not that impressed with the production of it, I thought it was a good read especially the article about hardcourt which is only making a dent at the moment on the street cycling scene in Dublin. The article based on London Hardcourt and the joys of Bike Polo features Jol who has a pretty nice blog. Here is the article that you...
B&B
After talking to most of the managers and store owners in some of the coolest boutiques in Amsterdam it occured to me that well we should have been in Berlin as apparently that was the happening place. It was hosting the 2010 Bread & Butter Show. I am not really a big “streetstyler” but I love the idea of being able to mix it up. I love the photos from their flea market…The...
Les Queues Des Sardines
I realise that this has been twitted and blogged the hell out of recently but I really like them so I am just going to put it out there any way. They are so quirky even the spiel about themselves is cute. I love the idea of making your tights a walking narrative for how you feel. I would definitely the monster ones.Check out their website for stockists..NOW!
Unhappy Hipsters
It is very lonely in the modern world just check out this blog to see why. Not exactly the kind of imagery that you would normally associate with the word hipster but funny all the same. This really funny blog which adds really depressingly funny captions written along side really modernist house photos from past photo shoots from the pages of Dwell Magazine. With such hilarious gems as :...
Paper Dresses Vintage Store
Came across this deadly second-hand store in London recently through the joys of Facebook. Awfully excited about checking it out soon. Its called Paper Dresses and you can check them out here. Really loving their photography aswell I have actually been really considering just starting buying up second-hand stuff and selling it on, there really is not enough going on in Dublin.
Beach House
Having been introduced to Beach House by Smongey I was a bit dubious of them with their floaty airs and keyboard. However they have really grown on me and I have just bout tickets to their gig up North because their gig in Dublin is sold out!
Really loving the track Norway.
Amsterdam.
Ok so, I was away for a whole week and well I want to explode at this stage with all the design shite that I saw. I actually have no clue where to start. I have so many photos and things I want to blog…..I think I will just do an Amsterdam guide but until then I am just going to post the shite out of this tumblr.
Lisa Shahno
Alright, so you all should know by now that I am a huge fan of the geometric or architectural form. There is something about angles and sharp constructions that make me go “oooh”. Hence why I am loving the work of Lisa Shahno, even if it is a bit futuristic S&M gothic.
The collection is named Squaring the Square, because each piece is constructed using a similar ratio. Shahno...
The Norse Store
Some really nice gear from Norse Projects which are a sort of emerging brand with a really wide range of styles. Some really kick-ass mens wear for Spring/Summer 2010 Collection. The collection features shirts, t-shirts, pants, shorts, jackets and knitwear.
Check out their website here.
Billionaire Boys Club.
I realise that I am not male but if I was I would definitely purchasing something here.
Really loving the website.
Molen Kitchen
I love this website if not just for the main page Molen Kitchen. After seeing my friend’s adaption of the wheelbarrow for Electric Picnic I am always on the look out for even more inventive things. Having just come across a wheelbarrow kitchen for portable cooking, I knew I would have to blog it. The grill can be customized so that the meat is branded, and also included are a smoker, a spit,...
Atalanta Weller
“Mad as a Hatter” looking shoe that kind of makes me want to make geometric sculptures again.
I think “Mad as a Hatter” is the best word to describe this designer who actually made a stiletto shoe from BMW car parts. Her new and innovative take on Fashion has been turning heads since her reinvention of shoes came on the scene . Check out her collaboration for the House of...
Alexa does Mulberry
OOOOh and then there were two to drool over. I don’t think that Alexa needs any introduction. I am a huge fan if only I had the money I would mirror her dress sense constantly. These are my two favourites.
Ally Capellino
Having just bought a new vintage bag in Kilkenny at a mere three euro, I realised that the money doesn’t always have to equal the quality. I decided that I no longer need to drool over amazing satchels and bags which you can actually just get in second hand shops….
Oh no wait Ally Capellino has just ruined that idea with the amazing new collection. Some of the names of the bags just...
